The 20m long banner memorialising Justin Fashanu’s audacious flick and volley past Ray Clements 40 years ago was displayed in the River End for the Liverpool game without a hitch and featured widely on Social Media, Sky Sports and – appropriately as they deemed it Goal of the Season back in 1980 – Match of the Day. Thanks to designer and Proud Canary David Shenton, Atmos groups Along Come Norwich and Barclay End Norwich who paid for it and wrangled the lovely Riverenders to hold it in strong winds.
